Preregistration
GP Las Vegas preregistration is now open. Online preregistration closes Thursday, June 20 at 9pm. Onsite registration opens Friday morning at the Cashman Center and lasts until 8pm June 21.
VIP registration is available only online until 9pm June 20 or onsite Friday, June 21. Players cannot get VIP status Saturday morning at final registration.
There are three preregistration options.
Preregistration = $60
Sleep in Special + Preregistration = $80 (must have byes typically won at a GP Trial or a Last Chance Trail)
VIP + Preregistration = $120 (includes Sleep in Special)

Events start on Friday with a Free Modern Masters (MMA) Mini-Master tournamet. We will register players for the minimaster starting as early as we can. We will post times after getting aproval from the venue.
Mini Master Details: Cascade Games is proud to invite Magic players to play in a Mini Master event on the Friday of GP Las Vegas. The event is free to everyone who is either preregistered for the Main Event or registers on Friday of the GP for the Main Event or a Last Chance Qualifier. This free entry into the Mini Master is our gift to you and is in addition to any other promotions you may qualify to receive at the GP - including Playmat / Sleeves for GP Las Vegas. Please see details on this site for information on how to get the sleeves and / or playmat.
Players not registering for the Main event of the GP or a Last Chance Qualifier may purchase entry into the Mini Master. Entry fee into the Mini Master at GP Las Vegas is $15.

Invited players will tour Wizards of the Coast and get a chance to play with folks from all branches of Wizards! Eat, drink, and be merry with the people who make Magic happen. Hang out and play booster drafts, Commander, and 2HG. Then play in a special-format Championship for big prizes and eternal glory!

Tournament Location and Travel Information
The venue for the Grand Prix is the Cashman Center. It's 15-20 minute cab ride from McCarran Airport, a couple minutes from the historic downtown area of Las Vegas and 10 minutes from "the Strip." The hotels on the Strip are some of the nicest in America. The historic downtown area offers hotels full of old Vegas history but not quite as polished.
The Electric Daisy Carnival, a ginormous rave, is being held in Las Vegas the same weekend (more info on the EDC to follow), so book your room NOW.
Hotels - We have a new hotel block. Better rate, better place to stay! The Palace Station is only 4.3 miles from Cashman Center. To book call 800-634-3101 and ask for Magic Grand Prix Las Vegas group or click to book online. Type in the code section PCIMGIC to get the discounted rooms.
There are two room types the lower priced courtyard $85 a night + tax. and for $20 more a night you can stay at the tower rooms.
The hotel includes a Free airport shuttle and the hotels other great features.
Gold Spike - The hotel block with the Gold Spike hotel is canceled. The Gold Spike was sold with no notice to us and is now closed as a result the shuttle bus that hotel was going to provide us with is also canceled.
Things to do in Las Vegas
LegitMTG has a great article on what to do in Las Vegas. Read it before traveling to the GP.
In the meantime, here are few other ideas:
Want to drive a Lamborghini or McLaren as fast as you want, on a closed track? Maybe you’d rather take the controls of something bigger – like full-size earth-moving equipment. Or scale it down and challenge your friends at Vegas’s newest indoor racing circuit.
Not quite ready to free-fall 108 stories? Then how about skydiving without actually leaving the ground? Or zip-lining a scenic Mohave Desert canyon? Or a neon canyon in the heart of the Strip?
Vegas also offers some of the tallest, fastest, wildest rides on earth at the Adventuredome or Stratosphere. Or go for the all-day Scream Pass on the roller coaster at NY, NY.
Think you’re ready to swim with the sharks? Then what about these bizarre aquatic creatures?

If you’re looking for more old school Vegas, one of the best cheap buffets in town is less than a mile from Cashman Center, the site of the Grand Prix. Then visit the mob museum. Or neon boneyard.
Not planning on sleeping much? You’re in luck. The weekend of the Grand Prix, Vegas is also hosting the largest electronic and dance music festival in North America. The 2012 Electric Daisy Carnival drew over 300,000 people and featured more than 150 musical acts, 500 theatrical performers, 12 large-scale interactive, flame-wielding art installations and other pyrotechnics. Performers for this year’s event have yet to be announced, but the 2012 lineup should offer a clue what to expect. More video from the 2012 rave here.
